Greece Plans to Open to All International Tourists in May 2021
Greece recently announced its plan to open its borders to tourists on May 14th, 2021.
Tourism normally accounts for around 10% of Greece's economy. With this in mind, Greece has released an optimistic new slogan, "All you want is Greece," to attract visitors and has plans to vaccinate all employees working in the tourist sector as well as incorporating new protocols to keep COVID-19 from spreading due to tourist activity.
When tourists are allowed to enter, they can enter if they've been vaccinated, have antibodies, or test negative for COVID-19. More details for exact entry requirements will be released soon.
This is hopeful news for those of you anxiously awaiting news on Europe's re-openings! This is a positive sign that countries are becoming more prepared to accept tourists and jump-start their economies. Below, you'll find some additional helpful information about Greece's reopening.

Essential Information —
Greece plans to open to tourists worldwide including US travelers May, 14th, 2021. Tourists will be allowed to enter based on 3 criteria. If a traveler has:
— Been vaccinated
— Possesses antibodies against COVID-19
— Tests negative for COVID-19
Any additional requirements to enter have not yet been released. There will likely be a Passenger Locator Form to fill out similar to what is currently being used. There has also been a discussion on the use of a digital certificate. We will keep you updated when additional information is released.
Return Testing Information —
— All air passengers traveling to the U.S. will be required to provide negative COVID-19 test results upon boarding their flight.
— When returning home to the U.S., passengers must take a NAAT or viral antigen COVID-19 test within 72 hours of their U.S.-bound flight's departure time.
